Shipping Process

AIRPORT PICK UP AND NANNY SHIPPING (DOORSTEP DELIVERY)

We understand that having a monkey shipped by air can be a concern for many new pet owners. As a breeder with over 10 years of experience in safely shipping monkey across the USA and Canada, I’ve seen it all and no longer have the same worries. However, I completely understand your concerns, so I wanted to take a moment to walk you through the process and hopefully ease your mind.

Airline Requirements for Shipping your Monkey

Capuchin Monkey Shipping Requirements: What You Need to Know

When shipping a capuchin monkey to other states or internationally, airlines require a health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian within 5 days of travel. This certificate ensures that the monkey is healthy and fit for travel. Some airlines may also require an acclimation statement from the vet, confirming that the monkey can safely be exposed to specific temperature ranges for short periods.

It is important to note that airlines prohibit sedating animals for their safety. Sedation can affect their balance and equilibrium, which can be dangerous during the kennel’s movement. Additionally, changes in altitude can cause respiratory and cardiovascular issues in sedated animals.

Depending on the airline and airport, capuchin monkeys are either checked in and picked up from the nanny or baggage claim office at the passenger terminal. Typically, the monkey is checked in approximately two hours before the flight and is available for pick-up 30-45 minutes after arrival. If you have opted for doorstep delivery, the monkey will be delivered directly to your address.

The Flight

Capuchin Monkey Shipping Experience: Ensuring Comfort and Safety

After check-in, capuchin monkeys are kept in the cabin with the nanny accompanying them. They are housed in temperature-controlled areas until it is time to board the plane. Many airlines transport pets to and from the plane in heated or air-conditioned vans. For airlines that don’t have this option, they will not ship pets if the temperature is below 25°F or above 85°F. Once on board, the monkeys travel in the pressurized and temperature-controlled cabin to ensure their comfort.

Some people worry that shipping can be too traumatic for animals. At our facility, we do everything we can to minimize stress during the journey. The carrier is lined with a soft, absorbent bedding to provide comfort and absorb any accidents that might occur. While it’s rare for a monkey to relieve itself during travel, it can happen occasionally. We also include crumpled paper towels in the carrier, providing warmth and a cozy hiding space for the monkey, helping them feel more secure during their journey.

After Your Monkeys Arrives The Closest Airport In Your Location,

Arrival and Settling In for Your Capuchin Monkey

Upon arrival, most capuchin monkeys seem relieved to see familiar faces. It’s a good idea to bring baby wet wipes and a towel if you’re picking up your monkey from the airport (if you’ve arranged for airport pickup), especially if you have a long journey home. If your monkey happens to relieve itself in the carrier, both you and your new companion will appreciate a quick wipe-down and a fresh towel to replace any soiled bedding.

For a short drive home, it’s best to leave the monkey in its carrier until you arrive. However, for longer trips, you might want to let the monkey out for a brief stretch in the car before you start the journey. Be mindful of your monkey’s temperament; some may be overwhelmed by the changes and may prefer to stay in the carrier until they settle.

Once you’re home, we recommend starting in a small, safe space. The master bathroom is ideal, as there are fewer places for your monkey to hide, encouraging them to explore and adjust faster. We will send along a teaser toy and some food to help your monkey feel more comfortable. Using the toy to coax them out of the carrier and engaging in playtime is a great way to ease any fears and help them bond with you. Keeping the area small at first will make your monkey feel safer and allow for a smoother transition. A larger space can cause sensory overload and delay the acclimation process.

Nanny Shipping;

Home Delivery for Your Capuchin Monkey

If you’ve ordered or paid for your capuchin monkey to be delivered directly to your home, all you need to do is sit back, relax, and make the necessary arrangements to welcome your new family member. The process I’ve explained above will be handled by the nanny provided by the pet couriers who I trust for shipping. They will ensure that your monkey goes through the proper procedures and is well taken care of throughout the journey.

By the time your new companion arrives at your doorstep, they will be ready to step out of the crate and start exploring their new home right away, with minimal stress.
